There is a new home design trend called “barkitecture” that encompasses pet-friendly features throughout a home, like dog-washing stations to hidden food and water bowls in kitchen islands.

When either looking for a new home or considering renovations, homeowners who are pet owners looked for specific amenities. Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) flooring is popular because it is scratch and water resistant. Pet-safe mulch, grass and plants were important as well.
